McCauley Wood Fuels to double their wood energy production with their new Kesla C645T-II Biomass Chipper.
“Irish timber production is forecast to double to 8.1m m³ by 2035” – Donal Magner Irish Farmers Journal
Last week the Irish Farmers Journal featured Kenny McCauley, Director of McCauley Wood Fuels in Co. Leitrim. Speaking to the IFJ Kenny explained how McCauley Wood Fuels struggled to meet the increasing demand with their previous set up. With the help of the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, the McCauleys decided it was time to expand their capacity for wood energy production. The McCauleys soon contacted Oakleaf to discuss a range of options to increase production and efficiency. It soon became clear that the Kesla C645Twas the obvious choice. The Kesla Biomass chipper has an hourly chip output of up to 35t. Kesla has incorporated a number of useful features such as a new chute, blade and rotor design. The chipper can easily chip into high trailers while the chipper’s camera system, with a monitor inside the cab of the tractor, allows the operator to keep an eye on how the load is filling into the trailer. The Kesla chipper precisely delivers a top quality wood chip with reduced spillage and downtime when re-positioning the chipper.
